DeepMeta - Connect Statistics
Announcing the new Statistics section, showing your Connect Sales in detail
We're introducing Connect Statistics, a dedicated area in DeepMeta that visualizes your Connect royalties. Explore how your Connect sales evolve over time, break them down by product and asset type, see regional and refund splits, and drill into countries — all with powerful filtering.
What is a Connect sale?
Connect is Getty Images' solution that integrates content, metadata, and search (via API) into customers' platforms and tools. Licenses are restricted: end users access content only inside those products — not as raw downloads for general use.
On your royalty side, Connect activity often appears on the Connect (.txt) statement in Account Management (Royalties tab). Because Connect volumes can be very high, Getty consolidates some line items so the statement stays readable: multiple usages may roll into summary rows (for example one line for $10 instead of 100 lines at $0.10). Royalty calculation is unchanged; only presentation is simplified. You may still see separate consolidated lines by file type (photo, video, illustration) when rates differ.
Product types you might see include Cost Per View, Rev Share Ad based, Price Per Image, Fixed Usage Fee, and AI Services — each reflecting a different commercial model for how customers use your content in Connect.
Bar chart — Connect sales by royalty month / year
The bar chart shows how your Connect royalties develop over time, grouped by royalty month or year so you can spot trends at a glance.

List — by product and asset type
A detailed list groups Connect sales by product and asset type, so you can compare categories side by side.

Product Types
- Cost Per View: When a customer makes content available to be viewed only by their users. The customer pays Getty Images a set rate for views of Getty Images content in a given month. Getty Images shares that revenue proportionally across the total number of times a specific image or video file is viewed that month to establish a price per file. Royalty rates are applied to the price per file. Typical customers of this Connect usage are news aggregators, small-sized publishers, self-publishers, social networks and blog sites.
- Rev Share Ad based: When a customer makes content available to their users as part of a subscription. The customer pays Getty Images a percentage of overall revenues generated from subscriptions that include Getty Images content. Getty Images shares that revenue proportionally across the total number of times a specific image or video file is used that month to establish a price per file. Royalty rates are applied to the price per file. Typical customers of this Connect usage are ad creation services, website building tools, presentation or media creation tools.
- Price Per Image: When a customer makes the content available to their users for a defined use. The customer pays a fixed price for every download. Typical customers of this Connect usage are ad creation services, website building tools, presentation or media creation tools.
- Fixed Usage Fee: When a customer makes the content available to their users for a defined use. The customer pays a fixed price for access to Getty Images content to make available to their users. Getty Images determines the price per file by dividing the customer’s fee by the number of files they used. Typical customers of this Connect usage are technology companies that provide internet-related services and products, or website building tools, presentation or media creation tools. It also includes customers who require imagery for AI data training.
- AISERVICES: When Getty Images shares the revenues generated from its Generative AI Services with creators whose content was used to train them. Each year, 50% of that pool is split evenly across files in the training set (Training share), and 50% is weighted by each file's traditional licensing performance in the same period (Weighted share).
Donut charts — region, product type, asset type, refunds
Four donut charts summarize your Connect picture:
- Region
- Product type
- Asset type
- Refunds
On Refunds, it is common to see 100% "Funds" for a period — meaning there were no customer refund issues to report in that window.

Countries
See Connect sales per country or US state: switch between a list view and a world map to understand where your Connect revenue comes from geographically.

Filtering
Click the Filter button at the top to open a panel of badges for every filterable dimension: Country, Getty Collection, Product type, Region, Refunds, and more. Select one or multiple values to narrow all charts and lists. Click Filter again to collapse the panel; only the badges you selected remain visible.

Example — AI Services only
To focus on AI Services Connect revenue: open the filter panel and select the AISERVICES badge. Every visualization updates to show only those sales.

Why no Connect Sales per asset, like Regular Sales?
Up to September 2025, Getty Connect statements contained detailed records per used asset. That produced Connect Statements with thousands of entries, each contributing a very small amount. After that date, Getty switched to more compact Connect royalty statements with consolidated entries per product and asset type. Those statements no longer include data for individual assets.
For this reason, we show only consolidated data in Connect Statistics. Asset-level Connect Statistics would require every statement to include per-asset detail, but statements issued after September 2025 no longer contain that level of detail.
