DeepMeta - Briefs
We're pleased to announce our latest DeepMeta 4 feature: Briefs. Browse the latest Creative and Custom Content Briefs from Getty Images
By Franky De Meyer
The Briefs section shows all currently open Creative and Custom Content Briefs from Getty Images.
We've added filters to make the discovery and selection of briefs for your next shoot as efficient and comfortable as possible.
Brief list
The Brief list is the main view of this section. All currently open Getty Images briefs that apply to your account(s) are shown in a list;

There are typically hundreds of Briefs, so using the filter tools at the top of the page is essential to finding briefs of interest to you. We explain them in detail further down this article.
Brief Detail
Clicking one of the Brief panels in the list, opens the Brief Detail Panel at the right:

All details of the Brief are listed in long format. At the bottom is a link to the corresponding page for the Brief at the Getty ESP site.
'Viewed' status, Liking and Deleting
All Briefs you have already opened in the detail panel once are marked with a "Viewed" label overlaid on the bottom left of the thumbnail.

Note the two icons at the top right of each Brief panel (in the Brief Detail Panel, you'll find them as Like and Delete buttons):
| Delete: | A toggle button allowing you to delete the Brief from the list. Don't worry, they won't be deleted on the Getty server though ;) | |
| Like: | A toggle button allowing you to like the Brief. |
You can use the "Likes" filter at the top of the page to show or hide Deleted and (un-)Liked briefs.
Likes and your ESP "My list" stay in sync
Your Likes in DeepMeta and your My list on the Getty ESP site are kept in sync, in both directions. Build your shortlist wherever it suits you, and find the same briefs in both places.
- Like a brief in DeepMeta, and a few seconds later it's on your My list at the ESP site.
- Remove a Like in DeepMeta, and the brief is removed from your My list. Deleting a brief you had liked removes it from your My list as well.
- Save a brief to your My list at the ESP site, and it shows up as Liked in DeepMeta. Remove it from your My list, and its Like disappears in DeepMeta too.
Deleting a brief you hadn't liked doesn't change anything at the ESP site: deleting only hides briefs in DeepMeta.
When do changes made at the ESP site show up?
DeepMeta looks at your My list when you open the Briefs page, and the list updates by itself a few moments later. There's no need to reload the page. To keep things fast, DeepMeta checks your My list at most once every 30 minutes, so a change you just made at the ESP site can take up to half an hour to appear.
What if I change the same brief in both places?
The most recent change wins. For example, if you removed a Like in DeepMeta and later saved the same brief to your My list at the ESP site, it's Liked again. Saving a brief that you had deleted in DeepMeta also brings it back, as Liked.
More than one ESP account?
If you've connected several ESP accounts, for example a Getty and an iStock account, a Like goes to the My list of each of your accounts that can see the brief. Saving a brief at the ESP site with one account likes it in DeepMeta, so it's added to the My list of your other accounts too.
Good to know
- Only open briefs are synced. Once a brief closes, its Like and its place on your My list stay as they are.
- Your ESP accounts need to be signed in in DeepMeta. If a sign-in has expired, your changes wait and are synced as soon as you sign in again.
- When we turned on syncing (October 2026), we combined both lists once: briefs you had liked were added to your My list, and briefs on your My list became Likes. One exception: a brief that was on your My list but deleted in DeepMeta was left as it was in both places, because we couldn't tell which you had done last.
Participating
Briefs in which you're already participating (i.e. for which you have one or more batches with corresponding brief/event ID) are marked with an orange label overlay at the bottom left of the thumbnail, showing the number of batches.

On the Brief Detail Panel, you will then see links that take you to the corresponding batch(es) in Batches & Uploads. See the Your Batches section at the right-hand side:

Not participating yet? Use the Create Batch buttons in the Brief Detail Panel to create a batch for this Brief in one click, for any of your accounts that qualify. The batch gets the Brief's name, is linked to the Brief, and its Deadline is set to the Brief's end date.
Filtering
As with most other sections in DeepMeta 4, the top of the list is reserved for a toolbar with filter options. For the Briefs section, the filters are divided into four groups: Asset Type, Brief type, Likes and Model requirements. There's also a search box and a sort selector.
Note that you can select multiple buttons at the same time. If none of the buttons of a group are selected, the resulting Brief list will be empty.
Filter by Asset Type
Select Images, Video and/or Illustrations. Only briefs asking for these asset types are shown.
Filter by Brief type

The filter options are:
- Creative: Creative Briefs are shown in the list
- CC: Custom Content Briefs are shown in the list
Filter by Model Requirements

The filter options are:
- No model required: The Brief does not require the use of models
- Model optional: The shoot can be with or without models
- Model required: Use of one or more models is required for this brief
Make sure to read the Brief details for further instructions regarding model use and ethnicity.
Filter by Deleted / Liked

To make brief evaluation and selection efficient, DeepMeta allows you to Delete and Like briefs. See the 'Viewed' status, Liking and Deleting section above for details. Use the Likes filter to show or hide briefs accordingly
The filter options are:
| Deleted: | When selected, briefs you have deleted (by activating the icon on a brief) will be shown in the list. You will normally turn off this button, so that 'deleted' briefs indeed appear as hidden. If you deleted briefs by accident or want to give deleted briefs a second look, turn on this button to view them. | |
| Unliked: | When selected, briefs that you have not (yet) liked will be shown in the list. Initially, all new briefs are in this state. | |
| Liked: | When selected, briefs you have liked will be shown in the list. |
Search box
Type a search term and hit Enter. Only briefs with this term in their title, summary or region are shown. You can also search for a brief code.
Sort selector
Sort by End date, Newest, Title, Brief id, Rewards, Region, CC/Creative or Likes, ascending or descending.
