Frequently Asked Questions

Main overview

    What is DeepMeta?

DeepMeta is software for Getty Images and iStock contributors to upload and manage their images, view sales statistics, create collections and follow up their submissions. Version 3 is being phased out and gradually replaced by DeepMeta v4.

    What is creativ.zone?

creativ.zone is a new online platform, by the same makers of DeepMeta (that's us), for creatives to share their work, get feedback and interact with each other. It has DeepMeta as a privileged partner and most active user of the platform.

    Is DeepMeta free?

Yes, Thanks to our exclusive contract with Getty Images, DeepMeta is free for all contributors of iStock and Getty Images. this includes the stand-alone windows/mac application, as well as the online version, here at deepmeta.creativ.zone.

    Is creativ.zone free?

The creativ.zone platform allows anyone to also become an active publisher (just like DeepMeta) publishing their own blogs, F.A.Qs, personal image galleries, etc. Creativ.zone has a generous free tier, and paid subscriptions for power users. Note that this is fully optional and in no way needed to use DeepMeta.

Is my data safe with you?

Absolutely. With over 40 years of software industry experience, of which 15 years as exclusive contractor for Getty Images, we think we deserve some credit. We handle your data with the highest security and privacy standards. We don't sell or share your data, not even with Getty Images themselves.

Can I close my account any time?

Yes, we totally respect your choices and decisions. Click the 'Contact' link at the bottom of the page, and send us a message. We will close your account and delete all your data within 30 days. Typically within 24 hours.

Online Sales Statistics

How do I view my sales statistics?

Download your Royalty Statement '.txt' files at the Getty website, and import them here in the 'Statements' section. You will immediately have access to extensive lists and charts, showing your sales and earnings. The more statements you import, the more complete your statistics will become.

Can I import statements from multiple contracts?

Yes. DeepMeta keeps each sale linked to the contract number, so they are not mixed up internally. We will soon make it possible to filter statistics by contract number, or to view combined statistics.

Can I import the same statement multiple times?

Yes. If DeepMeta encounters a statement that has already been imported, it will delete the old data and replace it with the new one. You can import all of your statements as often as you like, they will be recognized and updated.

    Can I delete my statements?

Yes. You can delete one, multiple or all statements at any time. This will also delete all sales data linked to the statement. You can always re-import the statement later, and the new data will be used.

Your iStock/Getty Portfolio

    What is it?

The 'Portfolio' section shows all your images that are online at iStock and Getty Images. You can filter by title, description, filename, city, province or artist name, and sort by multiple criteria. You can also search for specific assets by number, and view detailed information about each image.

How does DeepMeta find my portfolio assets?

When you import your Royalty Statements, DeepMeta uses the asset id's in the statements to find the corresponding assets at the Getty server. This is how it finds out your 'artist' name. DeepMeta then uses this 'artist' name to find all assets, using the Getty servers.

Can I use the Portfolio feature without importing statements?

At this moment, the only way to find your Portfolio at the Getty servers, is by means of the data in you Royalty Statements. What you can do is import just one statement, and wait until the DeepMeta server is showing your portfolio. If you like, you can then delete the Statement again. Your portfolio will remain.

Only part of my portfolio is shown

Many contributors have multiple 'artist' names at the Getty servers, so it's possible not all of them were found, using the Statements. Click the 'Contact' link at the bottom of the page, and send us a quick message with the Getty/iStock portfolio link that does have all your assets. We will then link the related 'artist' name to your account.

Collections

    What are they?

Collections are an optional feature you can use to group your assets, in order to see their shared statistics. A collection could be a shoot, or the work of a specific period, or a specific theme. You can create as many collections as you like, and add or remove assets at any time.

What is the 'Board import' feature?

Many DeepMeta users have maintained 'Boards' at the istock.com and/or gettyimages.com websites, to group their assets. The 'Board import' feature allows you to import these boards into DeepMeta as collections. You can do this as often as you like.
